To secure the most equitable distribution of Central Government monies in a manner designed to enable rural local authorities and allied agencies to provide public access to services of a standard at least equal to those enjoyed by urban, suburban and semi-rural communities.
To campaign, in a non-party political manner, with interested and supportive third parties, for the promotion of integrated rural policies by Government and Parliament.
To promote immediate action to mitigate those most severe instances of rural deprivation and decay in member authorities.
To work as a network to share information and best practice.
